Muscle / Joint Injections

Joint and soft tissue injections are shots with a needle, given in a joint, such as your knee, or a soft tissue site, such as the space between a muscle and bone. Injections can help diagnose or treat many conditions, including: bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rheumatism and other conditions. The needle can take out fluid or put in medicine. Anti-inflammatory medicines are the most common drugs to use in injections. These include corticosteroids and pain relievers, such as lidocaine. Muscle and joint injections take about 15 minutes or less to perform.

Knee Joint Injections
with Hyaluronic Acids

Hyaluronic acid injection is used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis (OA) in patients already treated with pain relievers (e.g., acetaminophen) and other treatments that did not work well. Hyaluronic acid is like a substance that occurs naturally in the joints. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joints and helps the joints to work properly. This medicine is to be administered only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor. The medication is injected directly into the source of pain to provide relief.
